How are you-Apple? Feel hurt?
It’s not always a good idea for brands to be obsessed with
their competitors, but I feel that this YouTube clip manage to poke fun at the
hysteria that surrounds Apple product launches while also promoting the
features of its own smartphones-Galaxy S3.
During the whole ads, Samsung fans keep showing off the
features of Galaxy S3 near the Apple Store which really makes those Apple fans
feel amazing and unbelievable. The ads actually do not mention iPhone at
all, but it seems everybody knows that.... LOL
That is just a 2012 old stories. Let us see some latest edition......
Recently Galaxy Note 4 launched and that is my most favourite Galaxy cell phone. This time, it seems that SAMSUNG MOBILE upgrade its social campaign strategy, it launched the Galaxy Note 4 with a Youtube video series and a twitter social media campaign......
On twitter, the campaign appears to be more "aggressive". Let us see the newest #NoteTheDifference
Under this hashtag, you will find that many of the well designed picture present by the official Samsung Mobile mentioned it competitor Apple in some way.
Love you but hate you-Analysis On This Social Campaign
After seen so many curious but "aggressive" commercial social campaign, I think Apple fans would say "Love you but hate you". Because Samsung Mobile is Apple's chip supplier, every single iPhone need to build on the technology of Samsung Mobile. That is why even Samsung Mobile did social campaign like this. Apple still keeps silent.
From my perspective, Samsung Mobile really does a good job on its social campaign:
1. Groundswell. Samsung really takes good advantage of groundswell. From the social campaign, we can easily find that Samsung Mobile wants to forma trend to make fun of Apple and its products, not only on cell phones but also on tablets.
2. Create conflict. Samsung Mobile is really smart on this. It does not show off all the time. It uses its fans to list the features and advantages of its cell phone on social media platform. So other products fans will be drawn by them and follow them.
3. Change the mind. If you look inside the social campaign, you will find that Samsung Mobile is trying to "transfer" Apple fans. Every time, Samsung Mobile will make a comparison with iPhone and its products and amplify its advantage, gradually people will be affect by these interesting ads.
